Field Trip 2.0 : Melaka, Chapter 1

Assalammualaikum & hello everyone!

Last month, we had embarked on a journey to Melaka for our second field trip. This trip was a joint event between Prasekolah SK Seksyen 27(2) and the District Education Department/PPD.

Forty pupils were involved, along with five teachers and our PPD officer for Preschool/Permata, Pn. Zarini. First off, we went to Melaka on 18 May, with a few stops planned. The children were taken to Mamee factory in Ayer Keroh to see the process of making one of the nation's favorite snack, Mamee. As we arrived, the staff were all ready and had welcomed us warmly. We were briefed about the history of the company, and taken on a visit to see the workers & machines preparing Mamee snack noodles and Mamee instant noodles. A special visitor walkway was built in the factory so that visitors can see the whole process from mixing flours until the noodles are ready to be packed, through a long tunnel with walls made of glass.

No cameras are allowed on the walkway, so we were not able to document the children's awe, ahahah!

Next, we sampled a little bit of noodles at a pantry located in the factory. As a parting gift, each of us were given a goodie bag full of Mamee products before we leave for our next destination.

Watching a slideshow about the company's history.

Kanak kanak House : An Incredible Place for Developing Young Minds!

Assalammualaikum and hello everyone.

This time we are not going to talk about our own preschool, instead we're focusing on a place named Kanak kanak House. What is Kanak kanak House? Is it another kindergarten? A preschool? Here's a description we have taken out of their Facebook page;

The latest activity.

Selain itu, Cikgu Nurul Cik Puan Cahaya, Puan Mai Mun (Jr. Scientists & English Playtime), Ustazah Norhayati Mohamed (I ♡ Islam), Tuan Shuhaimi Abdul Rahim (Magic 4Kids), Cikgu Farhana Ramli, Cikgu Ina Shafrina Basiron turut menjadi fasilitator KKH Playgroup.

"KKH: Where Kids Unleash Their Potentials."

Kanak kanak House (KKH) organises playgroups and various exciting programmes for children, from learning how to speak in public, storytelling, arts, writing and also give talks & classes for parents.

We can reassure that the children will enjoy and gain monumental knowledge from KKH, so we would like to invite parents who loved to do activities with their little kids to KKH in Reko Central, Bangi. To know more about their upcoming events and programmes, or just to scroll down looking at exciting little faces doing enjoyable learning, go to their Facebook page.

Their logo. If you search for their FB, and come across this logo/profile pic, you are at the right place.

P/S : Our teacher, Cikgu Hanim is one of KKH founder, Dr. Surayah's students. She is super excited about her mentor's blooming project, but has yet to find time & opportunity to join in. She misses Dr.Surayah's motherly wisdom and kindness, though.

Field Trip 1.0

Assalammualaikum & hello everyone!

We have taken the kids out on a trip to a Pizza Hut outlet to learn some exciting pizza-making skills.
The trip was held on April 6th, 2016.

The children watched how pizzas are made (demo done by the pizza parlour crew), before trying their own hands at making pizzas!

Lining up, upon arrival. Eager-to-learn young ones!

Patiently waiting for their turn to watch the demonstration.

A staff of the outlet showing the children how to make a pizza.

Caps on, gloves on, we are ready!!!

Little chefs.

Diena learning from one of the crew.

Naim and Ameer focusing on making their pizzas the most delicious ever made!

While waiting for the pizzas they've made to come out of the oven, they were served with garlic bread, soups and drinks.

Our teacher trainees, who have helped a lot.

As the trip ended, the children all came home with a full tummy. ('-')/

Making Sandwiches

The most favorite theme for the whole school year : FOOD!!
Why? Because the teachers will have many ideas on how to teach the children on this particular topic, plus it will give the children much more hands-on experiences on how to prepare and choose their own food.

And one of the simplest food to prepare in the classroom are sandwiches. In last week's lesson, the children were taught to make egg sandwich. Thank you to our trainee teachers, Miss Marlee and Miss Stephanie for teaching the children to make their own healthy meal!!

Group 2 members looked on, patiently waiting for their turns to put eggs+mayo mixture onto their bread.

An Introduction

Prasekolah Permata SK Seksyen 27 (2) is located in Section 27, Shah Alam. Nestled amidst a quiet neighbourhood, this preschool was opened in 2011 with less than 40 children making up the first batch of students.

Before the new building was ready to be used as classrooms, the first teachers and students were placed in two separate classrooms at the j-Qaf building.

Little square windows.

The first teachers were Puan Hilmun binti Rafi and Encik Idrus bin Abdul Wahab. The two teachers are now serving elsewhere. Cikgu Hilmun is now working at a school in Subang Jaya since 2015, whereas Cikgu Idrus left Prasekolah SKS27 (2) in 2014 for a teaching post in his hometown of Lahad Datu, Sabah.

The preschool teachers are assisted by Puan Siti Nasirah, who started working here in 2011, and then joined by another teacher-assistant, Puan Nor Asmaa in 2012, and both are presently still working here.

Out with the old, in with the new!!

Assalammualaikum and hi to all.

The previous blog has been deleted due to technical errors. Here's a new one, it is a brief writing but we will be back with more updates (and throwbacks) soon!
